Plant-ForwardQuick WeeknightVegetarian
Instructions
- Pour balsamic vinegar into a small saucepan.
- Add honey if using - this creates a sweeter, more syrupy glaze.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer gently.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until reduced by half.
- The glaze is ready when it coats the back of a spoon and drips slowly.
- Remove from heat - it will thicken more as it cools.
- Be careful not to over-reduce or it will become too thick and sticky.
- Let cool slightly before drizzling. Store in a jar at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
- If glaze becomes too thick, gently warm it or stir in a few drops of balsamic vinegar.
